FIRST2RUN project will be presented as a case study at Ecomondo, the 1st Italian largest exhibition in the field of green circular economy and the 3rd  in Europe, that will be held on 8-11 November 2016 at Rimini Expo Centre, in Italy.

ECOMONDO is the main showcase in the Euro-Mediterranean on material, energy recovery and sustainable development,  a meeting place for the industry of the environment and institutional stakeholders, trade associations, public administration, NGOs, and all types of industry and goods manufacturing where new models for economic growth can be compared through innovation and clean technology.

Ecomondo 2016 will host a reach programme of thematic conferences. This includes a BBI JU & Horizon 2020 panel, about ‘Opportunities for jobs and growth in the Mediterranean region’, organised by the BBI JU, the European Commission, the Italian Green Chemistry Cluster and the University of Bologna. The panel will provide information about how the bio-based sector is creating the conditions for a local sustainable development, rural and costal area regeneration, new jobs and opportunities for local companies, universities, research centers, etc. The aim is to identify strengths and common challenges, of the Bioeconomy and the bio-based industries in the Mediterranean Region, analysing the R&I potential offered by Horizon 2020 and the BBI JU.

Giulia Gregori, NOVAMONT‘s Strategic Planning and Corporate Communication Manager, will present FIRST2RUN  as a concrete case study of BBI Initiative’s funded projects that promotes bioeconomy in the Mediterranean area.
